UCBT and WTC…and a little bit of Battery Park.

The other day I thought I would go and try to see something at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater (UCBT). So I took the subway…

…up to Chelsea. …and proceeded to immediately get lost. The subway is immensely helpful in getting around the city but it is equally helpful in getting me lost. You don’t really think about it until you get on but…if you walk somewhere, the scenery slowly changes. If you are on the subway though, you pop up like a groundhog all over the city with no bearing of which way you actually want to go. But, of course, when this groundhog sees his shadow its not six more weeks of winter, it’s just six more blocks in the wrong direction. So I missed the show and hit up Chipotle instead…

God, I love Chipotle.

…and this one had some interesting signage on the side of the building.

Anyway…thought this was an interesting window display.

…then I turned around (because I was going the wrong way) and finally found the UCBT.

Anyway, I had already missed the show so started walking around some more. I saw a cool building, a dog, and a three story Apple store.

Then there was the giant post office and Madison Square Garden…

Eventually I found a subway line that I recognized and got on. The line ended at the WTC so I thought I might as well go down there and see what that’s like. What its like is a big hole in the ground with a bunch of cranes sticking out. It’s almost like someone flipped a spider on its back and the legs are all sticking up. But this is what its supposed to look like eventually.

Some random sculptures…

And these cool lights under the snow…

A memorial.

A skyline taken from Battery Park - I don’t actually know where that is though…

New York Stock Exchange buildings and whatnot…

And then a kind of interesting photo through the window of an office building down there…

It’s like little cities just tossed aside and forgotten…
