Grand Central/UN/Times Square at night…
Alright, so while walking down 45th (again) to get to the UN, I started looking for a bathroom. Of course, I found a Starbucks…but I only noticed the ridiculously small size of the Starbucks after I had ordered my coffee. Too small for a bathroom but now, at least, I had paid for something that would make my search all that more urgent. The coffee-girl (I refuse to use the word “barista,” I’m not in Italy and neither is Starbucks) pointed to a big building behind me and said, with a knowing smile, that there were lots of bathrooms in Grand Central Station. Oh, well, alright. I didn’t know I’d be going to Grand Central Station today but I was definitely going to need that after my coffee…

The station is, indeed, Grand.

Underneath the main level, that you all saw if you happened to watch the previously uploaded video, is almost like a whole little city. Not only is that where the bathrooms are, but there are a ton of restaurants and whatnot down there as well. It’s actually pretty cool and if I hadn’t had to pee so bad I probably would’ve taken pictures…
More of this at New York City.
Quickly moving along because as I write this it is technically Friday and these pictures are still of Monday. What the what? …right, people? Next on the agenda was more walking…towards the UN.

Of course, the day I was walking over here it was Monday (a holiday) and so I didn’t even bother to see if it was open. Additionally, the whole building is being remodeled so there’s a bunch of construction stuff all over. Anyway…here’s the US mission to the UN.

Here’s some of sculptures…the others were removed to put up temporary buildings, you can see them behind the knotted gun and Saint George.

After seeing the UN, figured I would start walking back some. I don’t actually remember where I thought I was going but just judging by the pictures as I look back at them now, it doesn’t appear to be any place in particular.
Here’s a creepy hotel lobby…

Here’s a few more random pictures and, of course, you can see the rest at New York City.

The back door to the tents set up for Fashion Week in Bryant Park. There weren’t a whole lot of people at the back entrance…just a few paparazzi types. Of course, if anyone had shown up, I probably wouldn’t have known who they were anyway.

The front door actually had a bunch of people standing around…people with cameras and other people who were wearing clothes that no normal person would wear on a night as cold as this was so they might have been “important,” …either that or they’re “special” and the folks at the ‘center’ let them pick out their own outfits today to avoid a fight…whichever.

Here they are waiting in line. Apparently people in NYC will wait in line for you even if your biggest contribution to society isn’t a sex tape…Kardashian just went that extra mile, I guess.

Bright Lights…

then I just kept walking up Broadway…

…and walking and walking and walking…
More Times Square photos and video at New York City.
That’s all for this post though. Monday night isn’t over, yet, though - Columbus Circle and NYU/Washington Square Park in the snow…and a cat in a liquor store.
