Saturday night.

So I walked across the Brooklyn bridge and was super glad to see this…

…because it meant that I knew where I was. …right? Hmmm…maybe not.

It was just after this that my cousin got a hold of me so we could meet up for dinner. Either through me not being familiar with where or I was or…well, me not being familiar with where I was, I couldn’t find the right subway. For those of you who have never been here or thought about it (like I hadn’t)…there’s a bunch of different subways. Soooo…you can’t just find one and take it to wherever you might want to go. So I kept finding N’s and Q’s and what I needed was F’s. Also, all day I wasn’t too worried about getting lost because, of course, I didn’t really have anywhere that I needed to be and then, if I did want to get home, I could just use the ‘navigator’ on my phone. Well, now, after all day of talking and texting (and now trying to use the map to find a freakin’ subway) I was down to one bar. I don’t tend to get too nervous…but I was starting to get a little nervous. Nevertheless, I did manage to figure it out (with some help from my cousin) and I was able to eventually get to the corner of Delancey and Essex; where I saw this:

Unfortunately, you can’t read it but it’s a neon sign that proclaims, “Don’t Sleep.” …thought that was interesting.

Anyway, we eventually all met up and ate at the Noodle Bar

which, of course, doesn’t look anything like this at night…but I stole this one from Google because my camera takes crappy pictures at night.

Tasty food (and getting to sit down for an hour or so) made things quite a bit better so we walked around Chinatown some. As most of you probably know this is the Chinese New Year and we were hoping to see some fireworks or celebration or something and instead we saw gross bubble tea. How people can stand to drink that stuff is beyond me. It’s similar to straight syrup with soggy, pre-chewed gummy bears. But, whatever…it was fun walking around and seeing things. My cousin helped me get to the right subway line, I got off at Atlantic and walked the few blocks to the house (stopping again at the Dunkin’ Donuts that is on the way) and that was that.
